GAME ON!

Facilitator Instructions

Print these four pages, keep them by the screen, and you are ready to run any GAME ON! activity.

Every GAME ON! game starts exactly the same way. Learn this page once and you can run all of them. You never need to type answers, keep time, or fix anything mid-game.

Before you start

  • Turn on the TV or projector (or open your video call).
  • Turn the volume up — music is part of the fun.
  • Set the chairs so everyone can see the screen.
  • Have water or snacks within reach.
  • Open GAME ON! and pick today's game.
  1. Step 1. Pick where the group is watching

On the Ready to Play screen, choose one:

In this room — the TV or projector is plugged into this computer. GAME ON! fills the screen for you.
Online — you are on Zoom or Meet. GAME ON! opens a separate audience window; share that window.

GAME ON! remembers your choice. You only answer this question once — tap Change if your setup ever changes.

  2. Step 2. Settle the room

The standby screen stays up as long as you need. Welcome people, help folks find a seat, and make the teams: 🔴 Red on one side, 🔵 Blue on the other.

The Red vs. Blue strip can be shown or hidden with the eye icon.

  3. Step 3. Tap Start the Show

The opening sting plays — lights, music, and the GAME ON! reveal. Let the room react. The first round appears automatically and the party music starts.

  4. Step 4. Play — you control everything

Every game uses the same small bar of buttons at the bottom of your screen. The group never sees it.

Next / Previous — move between rounds.
Reveal / Show All — uncover answers when you choose.
    + Red / + Blue — add a point.
Celebrate — confetti and a cheer.
Music — start, change or stop the background track.
Sound On / Off — mute everything instantly.

  5. Step 5. Finish with a celebration

End on a high note: tap Celebrate, announce today's Red vs. Blue score, and thank everyone for playing.

How to Run Each Game

Crowd Pleaser

Uncover the popular answers · Team game show

Set up: Split the room into Red and Blue. Read the question out loud twice.

  • Let people shout out answers — any order is fine.
  • When someone says an answer on the board, tap that tile to reveal it.
  • Award the point: tap + Red or + Blue.
  • If the room stalls, read a clue or tap Show All and celebrate together.
  • Tap Next Round and keep the pace moving.

Answers can be revealed in ANY order. If someone gives an answer that isn't on the board, say “Great thinking — that one's not up there!” and move on.

Fill Me In!

Solve it before all the letters appear · Words & reveals

Set up: Read the category out loud (for example, “a famous saying”). Point at the blank tiles.

  • Tap to reveal one letter at a time. Go slowly.
  • Ask “Anybody see it yet?” between letters.
  • When someone calls it out, read the whole phrase aloud together.
  • Award the point, then tap Next Puzzle.

There is no penalty for guessing. Encourage the room to guess early and often — half-solved puzzles get the most conversation.

If the group is quiet

Say the first sound of the answer. Name a category. Ask a memory question instead: “Who used to make this at home?” A story is worth more than a right answer.

Mac's Mashup

See the Pic. Make YOUR Pick. · Picture puzzle

Set up: Choose a deck on the Mashup hub (Who Am I?, State of Mind, The First Ladies, Math Flash, and more).

  • Show the big picture and let people look — silence is fine.
  • Read both choices out loud: “Is it A or B?”
  • Take a show of hands, then reveal the answer.
  • On matching rounds, drag a card to its match or ask the group to point.
  • Ask a follow-up: “Who remembers her?”

The picture is the point. If the room wants to talk about the photo for two minutes, let them — then move on.

Music Bingo Shebang

Bingo one minute. Game show the next. · Music party

Set up: Hand out bingo cards and markers. Have your playlist ready before the group arrives.

  • Play a song clip. Let people sing along before anyone marks a card.
  • Say the song title out loud so nobody is left behind.
  • Every few songs, launch a Moment — a guess, a 3-choice, or a quick trivia break.
  • Call BINGO loudly, celebrate, and start a fresh card.

Sharing on Zoom? Check “Share sound” in Zoom before you share the screen, or the group hears nothing.

Scoring, simply

Points belong to the team, never to a person. Award a point whenever a team contributes — an answer, a great guess, a story, a song. Generous scoring keeps the room in the game.

GAME ON!

Running the Room

GAME ON! is built for mixed abilities. Some people will know every answer. Others will sing, laugh, cheer, or simply enjoy being part of the group. All of that counts as playing.

Do

  • Read every question and answer out loud.
  • Repeat answers so the whole room hears them.
  • Let the group answer together — shouting out is encouraged.
  • Give a hint the moment the room goes quiet.
  • Reveal an answer yourself and keep the energy up.
  • Cheer both teams, every round.

Don't

  • Don't call on one person to answer alone.
  • Don't rush — there is no clock anywhere in GAME ON!
  • Don't say "wrong." Say "ooh, good guess — keep going!"
  • Don't keep individual scores.
  • Don't skip the celebration at the end.

Quick fixes

The audience screen says "Waiting for host"

Go back to the GAME ON! window and tap Start the Show. The audience window follows your window.

The group can't hear the music on Zoom

In Zoom, click Share > check "Share sound" before you share the screen.

I closed the audience window by mistake

Tap Present Game again. Nothing is lost — you stay on the same round.

I want the big screen back

Tap Full Screen on This Screen. Press Esc to come out of it.

Remember

No clocks. No buzzers. No wrong answers. Keep it light, keep it moving, keep everyone in the game.
